the big thing i think people are forgetting is that, at the point of combining both the weight of leather and chainmail in a single Pauldron, you might as well just have plate armor at that point. it would be the same weight if not lighter

Great work! Of course, practice and time are the most important things to achieving a skill, but calling someone talented is a difference between how fast that person could get to a certain point compared to most people getting to the same level.

I very much loved your, "very scientific research". Couldn't have thought of a more scientific way to find out how much force a metal piece could endure xD Damn I would love to be some sort of apprentice of any Blacksmith, it's an art and in my opinion it can't be forgotten or going extinct, like there are or there were so many cool things (mostly weapons) out of metal and they had/have insane cool engravings etc.

My white stick has an elastic string that pulls the 4 segments together when straight, and they then slot into one another. Could you do something similar, even just to connect the blade pieces to each other and the connecting part of the handle?

i think you misinterpret the word talented. talented does not mean you do everything perfect from the start. rinse and repeat is how you master anything. but have to have a talent from the beginning to even come so far, to master something. usain bolt is a talented and fast runner. but he wouldnt be that fast if he didnt train running. i can train as much as i want, i will never be as fast as him. because he is more talented, than me. beeing called talented is not meant to dismiss the hard work you put into training. many people i know, add "you must have put a lot of work, in becoming so good" after calling someone talented.

Hey, isn't the fluting in the wrong direction? Because you never want to hit the sides of the flute with the impact of the strike that's not the reason they're there it's the other way where the impact is meant to go in the same direction as the flutes, at least as far as armor and structural Integrity are concerned❤

Practice doesn’t make perfect as perfection doesn’t exist. Practice make better, not perfect. The more you practice, the more experience you will get, which means improvement.

Would several interlocking plates (like a baton) work for giving the head extra weight? I know this thing is supposed to be a weapon but switch blades can be used in an emergency survival situation. So maybe loose interlocking plates (for weight) connected to both the head and the body through either cranks or strings to stiffen them up should work right? I dont really know lol, this design is still super cool though.

Honestly, I’m still more amazed that monster hunter had a “working transition” in the game for when it switches. Never took the time to examine the transformation. (Yes I know it’s not realistic, but most games don’t even put in the effort of “making” their own blueprint for how to make it seem feasible, they just throw it out there)
